Holiday Retail PR: Marketers Tinker with Digital Strategies for Holidays

After speaking with a family member post-Black Friday, I found myself wondering about the impact that social media has on prospective customers in the months leading up to the shopping holiday. In my personal opinion, developing a relationship with customers, not solely through social media, is what is going to keep your company top-of-mind when it comes to spending and the holidays.

The article linked is a fantastic look at how marketers are tinkering with digital strategies and social media as the holidays approach. Among the findings were four key things: 1) traditional channels are still important, 2) big data is still a challenge for marketers, 3) Facebook and Twitter are on the rise, but look out for Pinterest, and 4) flash sales are appearing to lose steam.
